Pot Of Gold
A new friend, Sharon, that lives here in the valley came by today to visit and brought her granddaughter, Lela, to meet me – what a very special young girl. Lela is five years old, precious and thoughtful. She brought me a gift of a very unusual Hawaiian flower known as a “Pot of Gold”.
The bloom was beautiful, about six inches across and a vibrant, sun blessed yellow. A real golden treasure. Lela’s kind gesture touched my heart and made the day extra fine. Thank you Lela – it was a pleasure to meet you.
The “Pot Of Gold” and the fragrant orchid were from her Grandmother, Sharon’s flower patch. Orchids of almost every variety flourish along Kauai’s warm tropical coast and magnificent mountain forests. Their alluring beauty makes them one of the most coveted flowers in the world. The cascading sprays and delicate allure of these quintessential flowers are the highlight of many local gardens. This prize spray that graces Sharon’s garden boasted 34 individual flowers. Magical!
