The View From My Window
Visiting friends for a few weeks on the Island paradise of Kauai, Hawaii. It is a magical place of wonderful energy and lovely people.
It is raining, it does that a lot in this beautiful valley, and right now it is pouring down torrentially.
Kauai, the oldest inhabitable island in the chain of islands that make up Hawaii, has long been known as “The Garden Island”. Mount Waialeale, located in the center of the the island of Kauai holds the distinction of being the wettest place on earth. Rainfall averages 410 inches a year, sometimes a whole lot more. The bountiful rainfall colors the skies with ghostly wisps of misty clouds and vibrant rainbows. The enveloping moisture brings life.
I have fallen in love with this valley – within the realm of my experiences, perhaps the most magnificent place on earth. It is truly glorious. The incredible scenery and the soothing powers of nature encourage lokahi - harmony or balance and I am experiencing a healing peace.
